Start With the Stud, Not the Spacer
A 5 mm spacer sounds small, and mechanically it is. The important part is that the spacer still changes the relationship between the wheel, the hub and the wheel studs. Once you add a spacer, you need to confirm that the wheel is still supported correctly and that the replacement studs are long enough for the new stack.
For a 10th-generation Civic, do not buy an extended stud from a listing that only says “fits Civic.” The stud has to match the hub's knurl diameter, knurl length, thread size and usable length. Front and Rear Are Not Automatically the Same

Do Not Use the Lug Nut as a Universal Stud-Installation Tool

If the stud manufacturer provides a pressing or seating procedure for your part, follow that procedure. Do not improvise a high-force installation method simply because the stud appears to be entering the hole.
After installation, the stud should be fully seated and the wheel should sit flat against the spacer or hub face. A stud that is partly seated can make the assembly look correct from the wheel side while leaving the wheel clamping system in an unsafe condition.
5 mm Spacer Checklist
Confirm the spacer is the correct hub-centric design for the Civic application if a hub-centric spacer is specified for your setup.
Check that the spacer and wheel mounting faces are clean and flat.

This is also the point where an experienced shop can save time. The job is straightforward when the dimensions and access are right; it becomes a different job when the particular stud requires hub removal or a special installation tool.

A 5 mm spacer does not automatically require a hub teardown on a 10th-gen Civic, but neither should you assume every extended ARP stud can be installed in place.
